You’ve married the person you want to share your life with. So how do you share your finances?
Lead with communication. Regardless of how you choose to financially run your household, it’s important to talk with your spouse about the decisions that need to be made. I often joke that my wife is the CEO of our family while I am the CFO, a role that makes sense given my profession. Despite assuming responsibility for managing our finances though, my wife and I take time to discuss our various money decisions, ensuring we come up with a plan together.
Open communication about money is good for an investment strategy, and even better for a marriage.
